GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
Subject Matter / Media:
All media is eligible for most exhibitions with the exception of giclee prints. No limits other than size. The show subject matter will be listed under the title on the specifications page for each show. Media specific limitations will also be listed under each shows specfications which can be seen by clicking on the show title.
Eligibility:
All current Bryan Gallery Artist Members are invited to submit works. All artists are eligible to submit an application to any exhibition on our call to artists page. If your work is accepted by the jury, you must be or become a member of Bryan Memorial Gallery to have your work exhibited
If you are not a current member, or you have not renewed your membership in the last 12 months, you may do so »on line here, in person or through the mail.
All paintings must be available for sale, and must not have been exhibited in Lamoille County, Vermont, previously.

Jury process:
The jury will review each artist’s entries and select the artists to be included in the exhibition. The jury’s decision will be conclusive.
Digital Images:
Professional looking images must be submitted in high resolution jpeg format under 5 MEG file size. These images will be used for the Gallery’s website and public relations. Submit your images on line by going to http://www.bryangallery.org/artistsadmin
Please do not use punctuation marks (such as, # $ % ^ & *()+=[]’";,/ {}|:<>?~) in the filename.

Images should be a minimum of 1200 pixels wide in landscape orientation or 1000 pixels tall if in portrait orientation. Smaller images may be rejected, and/or the quality of the images displayed on the website may be poor due to the display size being larger than the submitted image. Remember, for juried shows, the quality of your image can make the difference in the jurors ability to assess your work.
Insurance & Liability:
While all due care will be taken with the artist’s work, neither the Bryan Memorial Gallery nor the Bryan Foundation assumes any liability for loss or damage however caused. Artists are encouraged to provide their own insurance on artwork in transit and during the exhibition. Submission of artwork constitutes acceptance of all conditions and terms stated here.
Number of paintings:
See the specific show "Entry Specs" for the number of pieces you may submit. Each artist whose work is juried into this exhibition will be notified as to which pieces to deliver to the gallery. Paintings must be received at the gallery on or before the date listed for that show. The paintings can be delivered in person or shipped to the gallery (at the artist’s expense.)
Receipt Form:
The titles and prices listed on your submission to the jury must not be changed before the exhibit, so please title and price your work carefully during submission. No substitutions will be accepted. Artists must complete and sign an Artwork Receipt Form and make a copy for yourself BEFORE DELIVERING YOUR WORK TO THE GALLERY.
Specifications:
You may submit the number of pieces specified for each show, which have never been shown in Lamoille County previously. Artwork must be suitably framed, with hangers and cable on the back. Accepted mediums are lised in the show submission details. Any other limitations are also listed in the show submission details.
Tags:
Artists must attach TAGS to the back of the work with their Name, Title of Painting, Image Dimensions (height x width; excluding mat & frame), Medium, and Price. Please have your artwork labeled in advance of bringing it into the gallery. TAGS are available at the gallery’s website, here: TAGS.

Sales and Commissions:
All works of art must be for sale. Should your work sell, a commission of 50% of the retail price you have designated, or later approved before sale, will go to support the non-profit Gallery and help defray costs of the exhibition. Please price your paintings realistically, no higher than you’ve been receiving consistently for your work. Pricing is the responsibility of the artist. The gallery does not offer pricing advice.
Exhibition dates:
Exhibition dates are as specified for each show. Accepted artists must agree to leave their paintings at Bryan Memorial Gallery for the duration of the exhibition. No exceptions.
Return Of Artwork
After the exhibition, any unsold paintings will be returned to you. You may pick them up in person at the gallery, or the gallery will ship the paintings back to you at your own expense, in the packing materials you have provided. Please note the dates for pick up as the gallery has very little storage space. For periods in which the gallery is closed, or during winter hours, note that return of paintings may have to wait until the gallery is next open for a period of days.
JPEGS and PR:
Please see rules and guidelines for digital images above under Digital Images. Theimages you submit should be of high quality and best represent the artwork you are submitting. These images may be used on our website, print materials and for public relations at gallery discretion. Please also provide a recent bio as an attachment to an email sent to info@bryangallery.org. In the subject line insert your name and bio, i.e. DaVinci bio

When the gallery is closed, but the office is open, please enter through the side door, and please play it safe by calling first before you arrive 802-644-5100. Sometimes only one staff member is on duty, and if he/she is on an errand, you’ll find the doors locked.
