Call to Artists Specifications

GEMS 2024: October 23 - December 22

Member Show Exhibiting small works (8x10 or smaller)

GEMS: All member artists are guaranteed a maximum of three works for GEMS. GEMS is not a juried show.

Bryan Memorial Gallery’s annual members’ GEMS exhibit returns this year to the Gallery’s Middle Room. This show is a favorite of members and visitors alike. This year, we are only focusing on GEMS and not the GIANTS. These works of art can have an image size of 8" x 10" or smaller with a frame size that must not exceed 14" x 16".

Entry Specs:

Artists may submit a maximum of three works for GEMS and all entries must be presented through the Gallery’s online submissions process www.bryangallery.org/artistsadmin. All GEMS are guaranteed entry, and submitting online allows us to display them on the website and gives us the necessary information for tags. If you are not a current member of Bryan Memorial Gallery contact the gallery to submit your email address in order that you can access the on line submission form, or email the gallery: info@bryangallery.org . The gallery’s response time is usually swift, but please allow a day before your information is in the system.

Once submitted, information cannot be changed. Please double check your work and note down the information if needed.

Submissions close at 5:00pm EST on the final day to submit.

All paperwork must be filled out entirely when dropping off accepted artwork.

Medium:

Only original works conceived and created by the entrant, will be considered. Image sizes for GEMS must not exceed 8”x 10” unframed, and outside frame dimensions must not exceed 14”x 16”. Artwork must be suitably framed, with hanging cable installed on the backs of the paintings. Sawtooth or clip hangers are not allowed. Unframed, “gallery wrapped” canvases, with the edges painted, are acceptable.

Schedule

Online submittal and any fees must be received by Bryan Memorial Gallery on or before this date. Or, if mailing your entry, Jurying Package – including CD with jpegs, fees and other materials – must be received by Bryan Memorial Gallery on or before this date.

Emails will be sent to all artists submitting applications, informing them of the jurors’ final decision on what works will and will not be included in this exhibition.

Sunday, October 13, 2024

All artwork for this show must be shipped or delivered to Bryan Gallery, PO Box 340, 180 Main St, Jeffersonville, VT 05464

Paintings must be suitably framed, with eye hooks and cable on the back, no sawtooth hangers. Gallery-wrapped canvases are acceptable so long as the sides are painted complimentary to the painting. Gallery-wrapped canvases do not require framing.

Publicity for the exhibit, wall tags for your artwork, as well as the website page for the exhibit are all made up from jpegs and information submitted by the artist to the gallery. Works can be submitted through the gallery’s artist administration pages at http://www.bryangallery.org/artistsadmin/, on or after July 1.

When delivering the artwork to the gallery, a hardcopy of an artwork receipt form must accompany the delivery.  The form can be found here: http://www.bryangallery.org/pdfs/PaintingReceiptForm.pdf

All works of art must be for sale.  Should your work sell, a commission of 50% will go to support the non-profit Gallery and help defray costs of the exhibition.  Please price your paintings realistically, no higher than you’ve been receiving consistently for your work.

While all due care will be taken with the artist’s work, neither the Bryan Memorial Gallery nor the Bryan Foundation assumes any liability for loss or damage however caused.  Artists are encouraged to provide their own insurance on artwork in transit and during the exhibition.  Submission of artwork constitutes acceptance of all conditions and terms stated in this prospectus.
